This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“In total, during the counteroffensive operation in the Pokrovsk district, 177.8 square kilometers were liberated and 198.9 square kilometers were cleared of saboteurs,” Syrskyi said.
According to him, the total losses of the Russian occupiers in the Dobropillia direction as of this morning amount to about 3,320 people, of which 1,864 are irretrievable.
"The invaders lost 971 units of weapons and military equipment, including 14 tanks, 38 armored combat vehicles, 202 artillery systems, 5 multiple launch rocket systems, 453 vehicles, 61 motorcycles and ATVs, 1 piece of special equipment, and 197 UAVs," he said.
The general noted that he had made another trip to the troops in the Dobropillia direction, where the Ukrainian counteroffensive operation is ongoing.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he analyzed the progress of the tasks with the commanders of the military units of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine, specified the tasks taking into account the current situation, and emphasized the importance of preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
Syrskyi reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had cut through the enemy's so-called “Dobropilsky salient” and assured that Ukrainian defenders were doing everything possible to inflict maximum losses on the Russian occupiers.
"Over the past day, control over another 2.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory has been restored. Strike and search operations were also carried out to destroy the enemy on a 3 square kilometer area in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. Our assault units advanced from 100 m to 1,400 m in certain areas. During the fighting, 52 occupiers were eliminated, and the enemy's total losses for the day amounted to 80 people," he said.
According to him, the Ukrainian military celebrates Defenders' Day in battle, destroying the enemy and liberating their native land.
“Thank you to the defenders of Ukraine for their effectiveness and resilience! We are working together for a common goal,” the general wrote.

In addition, during his trip, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine held a working meeting with the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
According to him, the parties discussed issues related to ensuring combat operations and the defense of settlements in the region, as well as anti-drone equipment for road infrastructure.
As reported, on Monday, Syrskyi said that some Russian units were surrounded in the Dobropillia direction.
