Patriarch Filaret, Metropolitan Epiphanius hold joint prayer for Ukraine's victory

That is according to the press service of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"Earlier, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine visited Bishop Filaret at his residence on October 26, 2025, to personally congratulate His Holiness on the 30th anniversary of his enthronement. The new meeting, held at the Metropolitan's House, was also attended by Metropolitan Dymytriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk and Mariupol, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, and Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod," the statement said.

Epiphanius once again congratulated Filaret on the 30th anniversary of his enthronement and expressed gratitude for his decades-long service in building the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The meeting also touched upon the challenges posed by Russian aggression and the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Participants emphasized that the use of the Ukrainian language in worship is a cornerstone of the Church's development and affirmation.

According to Epiphanius, the Church's achievements have become a solid foundation that no enemy can destroy.

"Thank God that we can communicate in this way. We must show love and continually thank God for all His blessings," Filaret said.

In recognition of Patriarch Filaret's contribution to the restoration of St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its consecration, he was presented with a letter of gratitude from the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

"Afterward, in St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, a joint prayer was held for Ukraine's victory over the Russian aggressor and for the establishment of a just peace, during which the Patriarch blessed those gathered in prayer," the statement said.
