The US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), established by the Donald Trump administration under the leadership of Elon Musk, has effectively ceased operations.

According to Ukrinform, Time reported on this in an article.

"The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been quietly disbanded with eight months left in its charter, according to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) director," the report said.

Scott Kupor, Director of the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM), stated that DOGE—a large-scale initiative to cut government spending, led by billionaire Elon Musk, which dominated the early months of President Donald Trump's second term—no longer exists, and most of its functions have been absorbed by the OPM.

Kupor added that the department is no longer a "centralized entity." It was noted that Musk's collaboration with the Trump administration drew attention due to the access he was granted in the government as a "special advisor" and the large-scale government spending cuts implemented.

As Ukrinform reported, for months the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, thoroughly reviewed federal systems and the personal data of millions of citizens under the guise of identifying wastefulness, and had access to competitors' trade secrets.
