Georgia’s Ministry of Economy has announced the shipment of nine generators of various types and capacities to Ukraine.

This was reported by Echo of the Caucasus, according to Ukrinform.

The purchase of the generators, worth 1.5 million lari (more than $500,000), was approved by the government on October 31 by order of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“The humanitarian cargo will be handed over to the Embassy of Georgia in Kyiv and then transferred to Ukraine free of charge. The humanitarian aid sent from Georgia will reach Ukraine by land within a few days,” the Ministry of Economy said.

According to the media outlet, Georgia periodically provides humanitarian assistance to Kyiv despite the fact that political relations between the two countries have effectively stalled. Relations deteriorated after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, when the ruling Georgian Dream party stated it would not impose sanctions on Moscow. Earlier, more than 300 generators purchased with funds raised by civil activists had also been delivered to Ukraine.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Georgia has extended free access to a number of medical services for Ukrainian citizens who arrived in the country due to the war until April 1, 2026.
