The publication NATION.GE (Nation Georgia) and the Academy of Public and Political Relations (APPR) named the hero of 2022 - the Ukrainian people.
The decision is based on the devotion of the Ukrainian people during the military aggression of the Russian Federation against the state of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
According to the Academy, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the world's leading analytical centers predicted the fall of the capital of Ukraine in three to five days, the Ukrainian people and authorities showed complete unity and incredible dedication.
Today it is already clear to everyone that Ukraine will not be defeated in this war. The devotion and combat readiness of the Ukrainian people made it possible to expose the imperialist policy of Russia and to consolidate the democratic forces of the world against the violent policy of the Kremlin.
It is thanks to the Ukrainian people that the world clearly saw the threat from Russia in the global context, which became the most important factor in uniting democratic forces. As a result of the attitude, combat readiness and heroism of the Ukrainian people, representatives of different nationalities are fighting together with the citizens of Ukraine, and the dedication of Georgian soldiers will be inscribed in golden letters in the history of the struggle for freedom and democracy.
According to the founder of the publication NATION.GE and director of the Academy of Social and Political Relations Gocha Mirtskhulava, the recognition of Ukraine, its population - the Ukrainian people, fully corresponds to the mood of the majority of the Georgian people and society.
