French President Emmanuel Macron said that Ukraine already received the French-Italian SAMP/T medium-range anti-missile system.
The French president announced this while speaking at the Le Bourget Airshow, Ukrinform reports, referring to Le Monde.
According to Macron, the system has already been delivered to Ukraine, and it is operational and "protects key facilities and lives".
France announced the supply to Ukraine of this missile defense system, which is an analogue of the American Patriot system, in early February.
It is noted that SAMP/T Mamba is the first medium-range anti-missile system developed in Europe. It is already deployed in Romania to protect the strategically important Black Sea port of Constanta.
SAMP/T can destroy aircraft at a distance of 3 km to 100 km and ballistic missiles at a distance of 3 km to 25 km, and a similar altitude.
