President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned of a possible famine in many countries due to the disruption of grain exports from Ukraine, as Russian troops do not allow Ukraine to sow and export it.

The Ukrainian president said this in his address to the Italian parliament via video link, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The famine, which is approaching various countries, will be the worst thing. Ukraine has always been one of the largest exporters of foodstuffs. However, how can we sow under the blows of Russian artillery? How can we sow when the enemy deliberately mines the fields, destroying fuel bases? We don't know what our harvest will be and whether we will be able to export when our ports are blocked and seized,” Zelensky said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
