Zelensky: It's wrong and dangerous to stay silent about Russia killing children with ballistic missiles

The Head of State noted that today, after the Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, everything possible is being done to save people in the city. Some of the wounded, especially the most seriously injured, have been taken to Dnipro. Doctors are trying to save as many lives as possible.

“I am grateful to everyone involved in this work, to everyone who immediately responded to the call and who is helping now. This attack is one of the darkest pages for Kryvyi Rih. Unfortunately, 18 people died, 9 of them were children. The youngest was 3 years old. My condolences to all the families and friends,” Zelensky said.

According to the President, last night and today, many people in the world have declared their position after this strike - a position of clear rejection of Russian terror. “Not only we in Ukraine, but the whole world should be grateful to everyone who sees this and does not turn a blind eye, but speaks the truth clearly and clearly,” he added.

Zelensky also emphasized that it is wrong and dangerous to keep silent about the fact that it is Russia that is killing children with ballistics. 

“This only incites the scum in Moscow to continue the war and further ignore diplomacy. Weakness has never ended a war. Therefore, I am grateful to every country whose representatives spoke out: leaders, foreign ministers, embassies,” he emphasized.

The Head of State also reminded that after a Russian ballistic missile hit a street in an ordinary city, a residential area, the Russian army struck again with drones. As a result, another person was killed and others were injured. 

“Russia must be held accountable for everything it has done, and we need to put pressure on them there - really put pressure, not waste time in empty talk - to end this war,” Zelensky emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, on the evening of April 4, the Russian army fired a ballistic missile at a residential area in Kryvyi Rih. 18 people were killed and 61 others were injured. At this time, 74 people are known to be injured.

Late in the evening of April 4, drones attacked the city, killing one person and injuring seven others.

There are children among the dead and injured.

In turn, Zelensky thanked international partners for their support after the missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih and noted that the US response to the tragedy was not strong enough.
