Defense forces continue to advance south of Bakhmut – General Staff

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to carry out offensive operations in Bakhmut and Melitopol directions. In the directions of Novodanylivka, Novoprokopivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Verbove. They have had success and gain a foothold on the achieved lines. They inflict combat damage with artillery on identified enemy targets. They carry out counter-battery combat measures. In Bakhmut direction, the defense forces continue to carry out offensive operations south of the city of Bakhmut. They gain a foothold on the reached boundaries," Andriy Kovaliov, the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.

He noted that the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Maryinka in Donetsk region.

Moreover, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in Kupyansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions.
