President Zelensky says that he will continue to fight for even greater support for Ukraine and even greater pressure on Russia for the sake of peace for our country.

“I will address the German Parliament on Thursday morning. I will continue to fight for even greater support for Ukraine, for even greater pressure on Russia. For the sake of our common victory, for the sake of peace for us,” the President said in his address.

He said that he had spoken with friends of Ukraine – President of Turkey Erdoğan and Prime Minister of Canada Trudeau – on Wednesday. “I thanked them for their support. We agreed on new steps for the sake of peace for our country,” the Head of State specified.

Zelensky also noted that in a conversation with the Prime Minister of Ireland he had expressed condolences over the murder of an Irish citizen, journalist Pierre Zakrzewski, by the Russian military.

“I also spoke with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. We agreed on the support for our citizens - temporary displaced persons,” the President informed.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops destroy key infrastructure, massively shell residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. Ukraine repels Russian invaders.
