Vice PM Vereshchuk asks EU to close sky over nuclear facilities in Ukraine

Vice Prime Minister and Minister for the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk calls on the European partners to support Ukraine and close the sky over nuclear facilities.

"You must understand that you do not help Ukraine enough now," Vereshchuk told the European world, reads the statement posted on the Ministry’s website.

According to her, European countries could experience what the besieged but heroic Mariupol has been going through for more than two weeks. It is about the destruction of the town by the occupiers, primarily from the sky: with missile strikes and bombardment.

The Vice Prime Minister stressed that Europe had no security guarantees now, including nuclear security guarantees, because everyone already sees the recklessness and unpredictability of the aggressor's actions.

So, the least that the international community can do today – and this is also what President Volodymyr Zelensky says – is to ensure a no-fly zone over nuclear facilities in Ukraine in order to avoid a real threat to the whole world, and to provide Ukraine with the necessary technical capabilities for protection and struggle, Vereshchuk stressed.
