Russian invaders attempt to block Chernihiv but stopped near Brovary – General Staff

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of 00:00 (midnight), March 27, 2022, Russian invaders failed to complete any of their objectives but partially succeeded in certain areas.

According to the available information, in order to resolve logistical issues, up to nine material and technical support battalions and up to five main logistical centers were deployed within the territory of Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy did not take active actions, focusing efforts on the enhancement and defense of the captured frontiers. Meanwhile, the enemy was attempting to block Chernihiv and fired on residential areas in Chernihiv, Nizhyn and Ivanivka.

In the Volyn direction, Russian invaders did not take offensive actions. The subdivisions of the Belarusian Armed Forces were conducting military training within five testing fields in Brest Region, Minsk Region and Grodno Region.

In the Polissia direction, the enemy did not take offensive actions. Here, Russian invaders were firing on the Territorial Defense Forces and residential areas on the outskirts of Kyiv and the capital city itself.

According to the General Staff, the separate units of the 35th All-Military Army of the Eastern Military District are regrouping, as they suffered significant losses during the offensive operation. Some units went back to  the Chornobyl area and retreated to Belarus to replenish the combat capacity.

The tactical group of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the National Guard of the Russian Federation are attempting to keep the city of Slavutych under control. Russian invaders set up checkpoints at the entrances to the city.

In the Brovary direction, the enemy was stopped and forced to keep the defense. After battles near Lukianivka and Rudnytsk, the enemy units suffered significant losses and retreated towards Pisky and Nova Basan.

In the Sumy direction, the enemy did not take active actions and focused efforts on regrouping.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian invaders did not take active actions, were replenishing losses, restoring equipment and launching strikes on civil infrastructure facilities.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is attempting to strengthen its positions near Kamianka, Synychyne, Sukha Kamianka.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian invaders continue to regroup and accumulate attack groups to resume offensive actions. The aggressor is focusing efforts on the seizure of Popasna, Rubizhne, advancing towards Vuhledar, Novotroitske and capturing the city of Mariupol.

In the Tavriiskyi direction, the enemy’s positions remained unchanged.

In the Mykolaiv direction, Russian invaders are attempting to carry out reconnaissance operations and fire on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
