Russian troops have launched an air strike on Luhansk Region, leaving such settlements as Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk without electricity.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Russian troops opened fire on Lysychansk. Artillery and air strikes were launched. Again, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged: 200 kW power transmission lines were broken. As a result, Lysychansk was left without electricity first, and then Sievierodonetsk as well,” Haidai wrote.

In his words, as soon as the security situation allows, repair teams will leave for inspection. The damage to the housing stock will be reported additionally.

A reminder that, on May 7, 2022, Russian troops launched an air strike on a school situated in the village of Bilohorivka, Luhansk Region. According to the preliminary data, 60 civilians were killed.
